Swimming and Wrestling

Our swimmers had a great district meet last weekend. Michelle Kingsbury won both the 50 and 100 freestyle events (pictured on the starting block). Joining Michelle at the state meet tomorrow will be Dylan Christiansen in backstroke, Zach Cuellar in breaststroke, and the medley relay of Dylan, Zach, Kaj Pearson, and Jake Boudreaux. The state swim meet starts at 5pm tomorrow at Mount Hood Community College.

Friday our boys wrestling team will compete in the Capital Conference district wrestling meet at 12:00 noon at Gladstone High School. Our wrestling team was undefeated in league duals this year. Good Luck coaches Robinson and Stigall and the wrestlers as you travel to Gladstone this weekend. (Blake Dunham pictured).

Boy's soccer team in State Play-offs!

Congratulations to our varsity boy’s soccer team! They won a nail-biting game last night against Molalla that was tied 1-1 at half-time, and 2-2 at the end of the second half. The game went into two additional overtime periods, and ended in the second round of penalty kicks with a score of North Marion 9, Molalla 8. Their win last night earned them the privilege of entering into the state play-offs. This is the first time in North Marion’s history that the boy’s soccer team has made it to the state play-offs! North Marion will play Ontario on Saturday November 1st on our varsity soccer field at 1pm. Since this is a state-play off game the cost for the game will be $6 for adults and $4 for students. Congratulations again to the North Marion boy’s soccer team and coach Ellingson!

Congratulations to our fall sports athletes. Yesterday at the district cross country meet we had several runners run a personal best time. Congratulations runners on a great season!

Tomorrow our varsity volleyball is in a league play-off game in gym 1 against Cascade at 2pm. The girls played four tough games last night against Stayton to break the tie between NM and Stayton for 3rd. Good luck again tomorrow girls!

Tomorrow both our boys and girls soccer teams will be playing in league play-off games. After the girl's win last night to prevent a 4-way tie in league, they will travel tomorrow to play Molalla at 1pm. The girls are in an tough 11 team district. The boys soccer team will host Estacada tomorrow at 3pm on the varsity field. Earlier this season North Marion boys beat Estacada when they played at home, and lost when they played at Estacada.
